As somebody who loves his football, I could not help but tune into BT Sport last night to watch the second leg of the Champions League semi-final between Chelsea and Real Madrid.
With Manchester City having beaten Paris Saint-Germain in the other semi-final, I was intrigued to see if Chelsea could make it an all-English final.
They did so in style, putting Real Madrid to the sword and winning the semi-final, on aggregate, 3-1.
Now, we can all sit back and wait for what should be a festival of football when Manchester City and Chelsea meet in Istanbul at the end of the month.
But, in these pandemic driven times, am I the only one who is struggling to comprehend with the fact an all-English final is to be played in Turkey?
Is that not just madness?
Why, with the finalists confirmed, can they not move the final to England?
Tonight, in the Europa League, Arsenal and Manchester United will be hoping they can overcome Villarreal and Roma, respectively, to cement places in the final of their competition.
My best wishes go to both, although it would need a disastrous display from United to throw away a 6-2 first leg lead.
But continuing the point of this article, ask yourselves where the Europa League Final will be staged.
Utter madness!
