Luton Town – The Big Question

It is April 1st, and the Hatters now have just EIGHT games left to pull off a remarkable achievement.

Before the 2023/2024 season began, critics were describing us as the worst team in the history of the Premier League and suggested we’d end the season with the lowest points total ever.

I think it is fair to say that we have made most of those critics eat their words.

We’ve battled away, we’ve picked up some victories, we’ve pushed most of the big teams all the way and the nation has taken little old Luton Town to its hearts.

However with EIGHT games left we have not managed to escape the clutches of relegation and a run of nine games without a win along with a colossal injury list, has left us entrenched in one of the three relegation places.

But all is not lost!

It seems that there are several other clubs, most notably Everton, Nottingham Forest and (possibly) Brentford who could all fall through that dreaded relegation trap door.

And, of course, matters are complicated by the fact points deductions could still be forthcoming, or reversed, when it comes to the likes of Everton and Nottingham Forest due to their financial irregularities charges.

It would, also, be foolish to write off the chances of Burnley and Sheffield United putting in a late burst of results that could remove them from the relegation equation, although it would take a monumental effort to do so.

So, as I come to the crux of this article, I’d like you to think deeply and answer the following question, truthfully and honestly.

With 8 Games To Go Will Luton Escape Relegation?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

I Can't Decide!

I Can't Decide!

I don’t know is the honest answer to the question. It may be a points deduction that saves us. But I will reiterate an earlier comment if only nakamba and longi had been fit I believe we would not be in this position. Also no matter what div we end up in another like or two must be recruited by next season we have looked a better team with both those players and more solid.

Going to take a huge miracle for us to stay up with so many injuries it’s hard to see a way out but one thing is for sure we will make a real fight of it and it could go to the wire

Hi all. Having just spent the morning at the brache anyone going to arsenal on Wednesday, can you take your boots. I’ve read on some sites the medical team being questioned. I find this totally disrespectful. They are working there socks off & it is like a A&E unit at present. I agree with Chris & jimbo, we would not be in this position with even kust half of the missing players. Nakamba, lakonga & adebayo are a massive miss. Carlton is running himself into ground a sterling effort but he can’t do it alone….

Well said Alan as I said in an earlier post players are no longer serfs told to play with injuries given cortisone injections to play leading to devastating problems in later life.now they treated as assets not slaves.those with no real knowledge are just misguided by modern football an know no different. I an others value value people like you and we know thruth.
