And so, April is now upon us and, in my humble opinion, the most important month of the 2023/2024 season.

With 8 games to go, April is surely the month where our Premier League fate will be decided.

A decent month will see us enter May with a chance of retaining our current coveted status, a poor month could well see May become irrelevant, especially if our current run of form continues.

But what does the month of April hold for us fixture wise?

Below, our fixtures as they currently stand, are listed:

• 03-April – Arsenal (a)
• 06-April – AFC Bournemouth (h)
• 13-April – Manchester City (a)
• 20-April – Brentford(h)
• 27-April – Wolverhampton Wanderers (a)

Five games that, ultimately, will, more-or-less, decide our fate, 3 away games and 2 home ones.

Looking at the list, I don’t expect to get any reward for our endeavours away to Arsenal or Manchester City which makes the other three fixtures – AFC Bournemouth (h), Brentford (h) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (a) absolutely crucial.

I believe that from those three fixtures a minimum of seven points is essential, otherwise the ‘Fat Lady’ could well be preparing to clear her throat.

But that’s just my view, how many points do you reckon Rob Edwards side will accumulate in April?

i think the fat lady is clearing her throat not just for us, but five other teams at the bottom end of the table. until its mathmatically impossible lets enjoy the fantastic skills and goals that the premiership brings. our severley depleted squad is giving all it can, but the loss of some of our top players is having a massive effect. i still hope to see one or two young players get a chance to show there skill. What we can’t do is rely on point deductions to keep us up. The FA are not Lutons friends. We must strive to get points ourselves and unfortunately that is proving extremely difficult.
Hats off to Rob and the boys they have given everything for the cause.
