Is anyone else getting excited about the return of Championship football this Saturday?

Has anyone else got a touch of the pre-season about the when expectation levels are high when it comes to how the team will perform?

Has the return of Nathan Jones also given us an unexpected boost, following the sacking of Graeme Jones?

Could the Hatters be about to benefit from the syndrome whereby the appointment of a new boss generally sees an upturn in results?

Four questions that you might feel free to discuss.

On Saturday the Hatters welcome Preston North End to Kenilworth for the opening fixture of their remaining nine games to save their Championship lives.

Played behind closed doors, wit Kenilworth Road empty bar the essential people who have to be there, many are saying that those circumstances will ensure home advantage counts for nothing.

If that is the case, then we can only hope that the remainder of the Hatters nine games don’t follow the same pattern of their away fixtures this season.

But it appears the Luton support are a confident lot when it comes to this game.

Our recent poll asked you to predict the outcome of the game, it saw 69% predict a Luton Town win, while a mere 21% believe Preston will take the three points on offer back to the north-west, with the other 10% of the opinion that the honours will be shared.

Here’s hoping the majority are correct.

Hi mh, while I agree with you that we hopefully get the bounce from njs return. I’m approaching this with trepidation. If what’s happened in the bundesleague and the first 2 prem games is to continue then home advantage is negated with empty stadiums. And also games seem to be about if you don’t have the ball don’t rush in to tackle. Look to intercept a bad pass an start your attack. Patercake football so far.

I watched the return of the Premier League last night, it wasn’t football as we know it, hugely disappointing, let’s hope it does get better!
