A week today we’ll be reflecting on what exactly happened in the first game of the 2019 /2020 season resumption, against Preston North End.

Hopefully, it’ll be all smiles from the Hatters support as they celebrate the claiming of the three points on offer, three points that could go a long way in deciding whether Luton retain their Championship status or not.

But whatever the outcome of the remaining nine matches of our season, we all acknowledge that difficult decisions lie ahead when it comes to the current squad.

It is odds-on that due to the financial impact COVID-19 has had on the game, several of those who are on the verge of seeing their contracts run out, as well as several of the loan players, will not be around when the 2020 / 2021 season finally starts.

Last week, we used our poll facility to present what we felt was a difficult question.

We wanted to know, with both players currently out of contract at the end of the month, which of Danny Hylton or Elliot Lee you’d prefer to remain at the club if there was only the cash available to keep one.

The results were pretty conclusive with 80% opting to keep Danny Hylton while only 20% opted for Elliot Lee.

But, in a twist in the tale, another scenario could develop.

If the Hatters were to be unfortunate enough to lose their Championship status, the club may find it difficult to keep James Collins at the club, as was pointed out by one visitor to this site.

If that were the case, then perhaps both Hylton and Lee could remain at the club.

Food for thought!

Hi mh, will power court go ahead? I’ve said this before our owners are business people and after this is over. Their first priority is to protect their firms an workers first as it should be. Therefore power court must be of secondary importance. I’m not sure of the original time frame for the building of power court 5yrs? But I think now it will be a decade before we move.
