After a hectic transfer deadline day, news emerged, this weekend, that two players had left the club by mutual consent.

Yesterday, I ran an article covering the departure of Matt Macey and today is the perfect opportunity to cover the latest exit from Kenilworth Road, that of the popular Glen Rea, as acknowledged by the Official Site

In announcing his departure, it ends a seven-year spell with the club during which Glen has more than played his part in the Hatters promotions from League Two and League One.

Initially, Glen joined the Hatters on loan from Brighton, back in 2016, joining on a permanent deal the same year, quite capable of playing in the heart of the defence, or in midfield, and often captained the club.

In the latter stages of his Luton Town career, Glen was troubled by injuries and spent spells on loan at Woking, Wigan Athletic and Cheltenham Town trying to reach the standards required to get back into the first team.

His career, at Kenilworth Road, ends after making 207 appearances and scoring on 8 occasions.

Naturally, the news has been the subject of social media comments, all praising his contribution to the cause:

At just 28-years-of-age, Glen is still at the age where he will do a decent job for another club, here at Vital Luton Town, we wish him well.

Please feel free to air your memories of Glen’s career, as a Hatter, in the comment facility beneath this article.
