With Thomas Kaminski and Tim Krul both signed during the summer transfer window, it didn’t a genius to fathom out that we had too many goalkeepers on the books.
With James Shea and Matt Macey still with us, I did think about penning an article debating which of Shea or Macey would be leaving Kenilworth Road.
However, such was the pace of the events happening, with both players coming and leaving Kenilworth Road, I ran out of time.
Today (Saturday) it has been announced by the Official Site that Matt Macey has, by mutual consent, released from his contract.
During his time with Luton Town, Macey made only 1 appearance for the Hatters in his second spell with the club, compared to the 13 he made during his first period with us, on loan.
Most recently, Macey has been out on loan, last season, with Portsmouth.
Unfortunately, during his time with Luton Town, he never really convinced me he was the long term option for the green jersey.
Now a free agent, it will be interesting where Macey chooses to pursue his career, here at Vital Luton Town, we’d like to wish him every success wherever he chooses to go.

Never understood the decision to sign him.Saw he wasn’t good enough when on loan and hadn’t improved. Nobody wanted to buy or loan him in England expecting to see him back in Scotland.
