It is the morning after the night before and the bedlam surrounding the summer transfer window is over for another year.

Overall, and as confirmed by the Official Site Albert Sambi Lokonga, became our 12th signing of a particularly busy transfer window.

Some would say we’ve followed the bulk buying prinicpal Nottingham Forest patented last summer while others jest that we’ve brought in too many players that have not demonstrated they are of Premier League class.

But, it should be remembered that Luton Town FC are a club with principals and have a budget to stick to.

However, taking all the above into account, what are your general feelings about the summer transfer window for Luton Town?

How Did Luton Perform In The Summer Transfer Window?

Excellent!

Good!

Poor!

Personally, although I have every admiration for the way in which the recruitment team have gone about their business, I’m disappointed that we didn’t add another striker to our squad.

But what are your feelings?

Personally it’s a 50/50 split for me some are working some are not. But I’m also beginning to come down on the side that have said we have recruited for the return to the championship .

At the moment I feel dissapointed. I feel that in some of RE actions it gives over a sense of Luton is not good enough to start the journey into the Premier. If you took the team that gained promotion and played the first three games we have had, I believe we would have had better results. What Luton may of lacked in possible quality and experience it gained in drive, belief and being a solid unit thjat played together. Now we seem to be looking at a bigger picture of an insurance against being a probable relegation side to do well another season. The Luton team we had is now told it needs to strive to support an influx of signings, mostly not wanted by their parent clubs. RE said that the idea was to enhance the Luton side, not second rate them. If RE could not keep the belief in the old squad that got us here, then how can the new squad gel, find a belief and step up to a level that they are being told is beyond them. It is was beyond them, how come we are here?

From what I have seen so far last years team was a better, tighter unit. Of the new boys I like Chong and Kaminski. I reserve judgement on Barklay, Giles and Andersen. Time will tell.

3 games?????? Give them chance to gel…..don’t forget it’s not just RE that recruites players…..also people talk about last seasons players were a better unit, well drameh horvath gone. Osho , potts Clarke & now locks missing….. work it out…..plus many on here where saying many of last seasons squad not good enough, now there saying they are….. get a grip people….

Don’t understand the worry anyway. Thought everyone was singing from the same song sheet, we knew it was gonna be tough, but the panic has set in after 3 games……pathetic. there will be worse sides the west ham coming to the Kenny and we gave them a bloody good game…..

let people air there worries and concerns, thats what this forum is about. good or bad, positive or negative, we all have opinions. i personally can’t wait to see this team gel. the potential is fantastic. patience is not in a football supporters DNA, but be patient. good luck to glen rea on his future, a true hard defender. That’s fine but that’s not how people were talking when we won the play offs. Now all of a sudden we must stay up……after 3 games, that’s my point….

  • Andrew says:

Look we knew this was going to be a hard long season we knew we weren’t going out there and spending hundreds of millions on players it was going to go to power court , we knew the new players we did get in weren’t going to be top top drawer and let’s be honest we knew if we stay up it will take a lot of hard work and the boys will put that hard work in every week so just stay behind them every game and see what happens.
