Luton Town – Opportunity Beckons

I guess we’ll not know, until May, just how important Cauley Woodrow’s 96th minute goal against Crystal Palace will prove to be.

But, despite the Hatters failing to take all three points at Selhurst Park, this weekend, when it comes to results around the relegation zone, it proved to be a good weekend for Luton Town.

Nobody in the bottom six managed to get a win.

Sheffield United managed a draw, a 2-2 draw, away to our next opponents, AFC Bournemouth, leaving them 7 points behind us, Burnley also drew 2-2 after being 2-0 up away to West Ham United, leaving them also 7 points behind us.

As for the teams above us, Nottingham Forest lost 1-0 away to Brighton and Hove Albion, leaving them just 3 points above us and Everton lost 2-0 away to Manchester United, leaving them a mere 4 points above us.

But what makes the scenario really interesting is that in the next 7 days the Hatters have a great opportunity to lift themselves out of the relegation zone.

On Wednesday evening, Luton Town return to the Vitality Stadium, to take on AFC Bournemouth, in a rearranged fixture following the medical trauma Tom Lockyer suffered in the original fixture, before welcoming Nottingham Forest, to Kenilworth Road, on Saturday.

After ending a run of 4 Premier League games with that draw away to Crystal Palace, the Hatters have the perfect opportunity to climb out of the bottom three ahead of the last international break of the season.

4 points out of the 6 available would be a great return for the Hatters, so how about it lads?
