The game, against AFC Bournemouth, at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday promises to be like no other.

Aside from the three points available, three points that both sides will be eager to claim, I can’t help but feel the atmosphere will be unique.

Although the original fixture took place back in mid-December, the events of that afternoon are still fresh in our minds.

To see our captain, Tom Lockyer, laid out on the turf, for the second time in a matter of months, saw an eerie silence descend upon the stadium.

The response from every one of the AFC Bournemouth fans was exemplary, as it has been ever since when the incident is spoken about.

Tonight, we all have the perfect opportunity to thank everyone associated with the Cherries and I hope it happens, with a uniquely friendly atmosphere being generated.

Ahead of the game, there will be, for many, an emotional moment with Tom Lockyer set to emerge from the tunnel and walk around the pitch, offering his thanks for their understanding and concern on that surreal December afternoon.

I’m sure there will be a few tears in Tom’s eyes as this small part of the football world continues to show respect and contribute to the old adage that, sometimes, life is more important than the game.

Bravo AFC Bournemouth.

Can I add what a class act Bournemouth are don’t forget that they have a fund set up to aid any Luton fans going to the game as the extra cost of going midweek will have to be bourne. So grateful to their supporters.

      Good point Chris

Thanks for the kind comments on our [afcb] behaviour on that fateful day. Surely though whomever the hatters were playing would have reacted the same as us? I feel it will be an emotional evening all round tomorrow night and it will be great to see tom and still wish him the best for the future. Here’s hoping you guys stay up this season, you never seem to give in.

Very nice gestures indeed towards us Hatters. I’m so tardy at times following news that I didn’t realise until the last couple of days that a fund had so generously been set up by your fans to assist with travel. I will be making the trip by my own accord in spite of manflu(!). Let’s hope it’s a cracking game.
