Luton – Time For One More Signing Before The Window Closes

I’m pleased to say that I’m back and I must admit I missed the general chit-chat, on a daily basis this unofficial site generates.

My thanks go to those who kept the ball rolling, it has been interesting reading the comment left by your good selves, especially those relating to the victory, at Swansea, in midweek.

But while I was basking in the Spanish sun, drinking copious pints of beer and people-watching, one question kept re-appearing in my mind.

After a summer in which the gaffer, Nathan Jones, has, once again, revamped the squad, with the summer transfer window set to slam shut next week, is there time to get one more transfer deal across the line?

And if so, which position, based on the start we’ve made to the season, would you like to see reinforced?

Please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article and we’ll see where this one leads us.

I’d love more pace in the side. But we are where we are. And I’d rather we stopped spending money. I still fear one day we could end up bust again (despite the current lack of evidence of that risk!). Every time we go on a spending spree it leaves me a bit nervous!

That said, if money was no object, and the squad could integrate 1 more player, i still think left wingback is our main weak link. But maybe if doughty or Fred get fit they can prove we have stronger options already?

Welcome back mh, I suspect a defender to be brought in or if my whisper is true 2 defenders!!!!

Sad to see so many signings last season & this dont get a chance. I feel for the old faithfulls Berry, Rea ( one of top salaries ) Gomes, Thorpe & Pereira !

Not to mention the acadamy players, who NEVER get a sniff of the first team.

It seems someone has thrown some money at the budget, but too many new faces doesnt help breed happy players or comraderie.

Hi boys ,long time no comment .Ye agree to an extent regarding needing another left wing back because Fred and Alfie are injury prone but with Kioso gone I would like a right wing back to cover Bree if he gets injured and also would like another pacey player (winger type )to really run at defences ,I thought Pereira could do this but it looks like he is heading out in loan again disappointingly.

Too many recent signings are on the perifery if even that ? Maybe with Micks health whoever was sent out to scout wasnt as good at discerning how talent fits our way of playing ??

We cant afford to have oodles of new signings twiddling their thumbs, will only lead to discontent .

As for acadamy players why should hot future talent join our acadamy when we CONSTANTLY bring in development players from other clubs ! in the 80’s & 90’s we had a conveyor belt of top top acadamy players.

WE even brought Brian Stein, Nwajobi & Dowie DIRECT from non league & into the top flight !!

Gomes hasnt been given a chance from a promotion winning league 2 side ! Thorpe had clubs clamouring for him , so must have something .

Not convinced by Muskwe , wish he’d been loaned out & Gomes getting squad player time.

anyone know what has happened to elijah. why is he so far off his old self. he looks slow, and lethargic, compared to last year. hope he gets his mojo back soon. good game last night. sheffield are a hard ,sometimes dirty team, they will get injuries playing that method. all said and done, the team are tickling along nicely. picking up the second ball seems to be a problem, and to many headed clearances went to opposition players. all in all, the team are gelling well, and more options are getting fitter, so looking forward for better things.COYH.
