Luton – They Played For Both – Huddersfield

Looking back through past articles, I found that I had never completed a ‘They Played For Both – Huddersfield’ one.

Trying to remember why not, I started to put together an XI that matched the description of the aforementioned title.

Then it came back to me, there does not appear to be sufficient in numbers to complete the task.

But, unbowed, I continued to delve through the annuals of history, and I have finally come up with an XI, although it does contain some unfamiliar names and I reckon, if they were to be assembled, they would struggle to make a decent impression.

So here is my starting XI which you will find features two players, Buster Brown and Jack Ball, that played for Luton Town back in the 1930’s:

Goalkeeper – Andy Dibble

Defender – Julian Watts
Defender – Matty Pearson
Defender – Efe Sodje
Defender – Buster Brown

Midfield – Jacob Butterfield
Midfield – Izzy Brown
Midfield – Tom Ince

Striker – Lee Glover
Striker – Jack Ball
Striker – Kevin Gallen

If you can think of the names of any others that fit the criteria, please feel free to drop their names into the comment facility beneath this article.

I have this nagging fear that I may have missed out the name of somebody who is glaringly obvious to others.
