Luton – The Matt Ingram Mini Fact File

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Luton Town had signed Matt Ingram, on loan, from Hull City.

With James Shea out injured for, up to a year, Nathan Jones felt it was necessary to bring in an experienced keeper, seeing as the Hatters are approaching an end of season that could surpass many others.

Ingram, for now, might only be on a 7-day emergency loan but we felt it would be rude not to include him in our ‘Mini-Fact File’ series, which we run for new acquisitions.

So, here goes:

Full Name – Matthew Robert Ingram

Place of Birth – High Wycombe, England

Date of Birth – 18 December 1993

Height – 6 feet 3 inches

Position – Goalkeeper

Youth Career – Wycombe Wanderers

Professional Career – Wycombe Wanderers, Lewes (Work Experience), Hayes & Yeading (loan), Oxford City (loan), Queens Park Rangers, Northampton Town (loan), Wycombe Wanderers (loan), Hull City

International Honours – Nil

Ingram has played for a variety of clubs but his most recent, Hull City, has seen him make 29 appearances this season keeping 9 clean sheets.

This will not be his first stint as an ‘emergency loan’ as, back in November 2018, he spent a stint with Wycombe Wanderers who were without the injured Ryan Allsop and Yves Ma-Kalambay.

I’m sure you’ll join me in welcoming Matt to Kenilworth Road and hope he enjoys the experience as we enter a critical stage of the season with so much at stake.

Such a shame for Isted who has served us superbly when stepping into the breach. Presumably when an emergency loan keeper is brought in he HAS to play the next match according to EFL rules?
