Taking time out to peruse the latest transfer speculation, once again a familiar name is being linked with a summer move to Kenilworth Road.
Earlier this year, here at Vital Luton Town, we picked up on the suggestion that Christian Walton was being linked with a return to the club – former-goalkeeper-linked-with-luton-move.
It is a link that refuses to away with it resurfacing this weekend under the following guise – Football League World.
It was a suggestion that the Vital Luton regular, Chris Winter, picked up on and got all of us thinking.
If Walton, who is now third choice at Brighton and Hove Albion, were to join Luton, for a second time, what would be the consequences?
Would Walton’s arrival see the departure of the excellent Simon Sluga with the Hatters realising his value to generate funds to boost other areas of the squad?
Would Walton’s arrival double our strength in the keeping position with James Shea leaving?
But, perhaps the most important point we raised was:
Would the acquisition of Walton and the possible sale of Sluga strengthen or weaken the Hatters when it come to the goalkeeping slot?

Never been a fan of Sluga, overvalued and overrated, we will never get that 1.5 million back.
I feel much more comfortable when Shea is in goal, would have Walton back tomorrow, keep Shea.
Bit harsh. But each to their own. Think slug has done well, considering some think our defence is do bad…
Yes Alan some people have no time for any of our defence maybe we should get rid of all our defenders in the summer an start again with a rebuilt defence next season doh
it’s worth noting out of the 10 teams above us only the top 6 have conceded fewer, it’s goals scored where we need to be looking to improve which hopefully Adebayo can have an impact plus any new signings in the summer, i don’t think Nombe will be offered a contract

Agree with you mh but it’s all about being realistic in our world. We know the problems but don’t put down individual players as it doesn’t help. Make the point about the defence fine. Say you want Walton an why make the case for him

Paul, I’ve had disagreements with both Chris and Danny in the past, but at the moment we are all on the same page, it’s not ganging up on anyone, just because we are in agreement with each other.
