Luton – The Great Attendance Question Answered

There is no denying that, for some people, the magic of the FA Cup has somewhat waned.

But, to me, the third round still has that magic about it even if the draw hasn’t thrown up many eye-watering ties this time around.

There are two ways you can look at our home draw with Wigan:

1 – Disappointed that we drew another Championship side, albeit at home.

And

2 – It gives Luton the perfect opportunity to progress and land a plum fourth round tie.

However, the worst thing we could do is take Wigan lightly!

But, getting back to the waning of the magic of the FA Cup, I couldn’t help but recall the poor attendance for the home third round tie against last season.

Will that be matched this Saturday or will, on the back of some damn good form, more of the regular support will flock to Kenilworth Road.

As a result, I decided to put it to the poll and provided three options

1 – Less than 5000
2 – Between 5000 and 7000
3 – Greater than 7000

With the poll all but closed, it appears that 56% believe the total attendance will be between 5000 and 7000.

With Wigan having requested 1500 tickets, the whole of the Oak Road End, I’d be amazed if the attendance was less than 6000.

But some 21% don’t think more than 5000 will pile through the turnstiles, while 23% expect it to exceed 7000.

I guess, tonight, we’ll find out.
