Luton – Positives And Negatives After The Millwall Draw

It’s the morning after the night before and I thought I’d offer a few reflection on the results yesterday.

Starting with the POSITIVES and listing them as simply put points:

– To put it blankly a point is a point.
– The resilience shown in coming back from being behind twice will stand us in good stead for the last seven games.
– Elsewhere two of our rivals for the play-off places – Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield United both lost, falling further behind us.
– Elsewhere – Blackburn and Coventry drew meaning both lost two points and didn’t close the gap.
– We started the game in 4th place in the table and finished the evening in 4th place, nothing lost, nothing gained.
– We still have the potential to climb back into 3rd place, we have a game in hand over Huddersfield, who currently sit in 3rd place, and we play them in ten days’ time.

Looking at the NEGATIVES and listing them as simply put points:

– Two points dropped in a game we expected to get all three.
– Yet again a slow start cost us a goal
– The referee, some might say, was another up to the usual poor standard we’ve had to deal with this season.
– Elsewhere three of our play-off place rivals, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, AFC Bournemouth won
– Middlesbrough have two games in hand over us, two wins sees them leapfrog us
– Nottingham Forest has two games in hand over us, two wins sees them leapfrog us

All we can do is sit and wait and see what unfolds against Peterborough United, in midweek.
