I’ll always refer to London Road when it comes to Peterborough United, the new name for their ground, Weston Homes Stadium, doesn’t wash with me.

It falls into the category of named for cash stadia, something that has, sadly, infiltrated the modern game.

Therefore, please forgive me if I refer to it as London Road in the build up to the game.

Ahead of the fixture, I thought I’d continue our recent trend of focussing on the opposition and looking at how their season has gone so far.

Peterborough United, have played 39 games this season and currently occupy one of the three relegation places in the Championship with a record that reads:

• Played – 39
• Won – 6
• Drawn – 8
• Lost – 25
• Goals Scored – 32
• Goals Conceded – 80
• Goal Difference – -48
• Points – 26
• Position – 24th (Bottom)

When it comes to the last 5 games, the results are – DDLWL– meaning they have taken just 5 points out of the last 15 available.

Looking at who has scored the most for Peterborough United this season, Jonson Clarke-Harris tops the list with 9 goals but a familiar, former Hatter, Jack Marriott, lies in second place with 6 goals

In the reciprocating fixture which, incidentally, was the first game of the season, Luton emerged victorious 3-0 with the goals coming from Adebayo, Cornick and Onyedinma.

Hopefully, we’ll witness a similar result this Tuesday evening.

As for those who have worn the shirts of both clubs, please feel free to revisit our luton-they-played-for-both-peterborough – article.
