Luton – Palmer Must Start At Middlesbrough

Earlier today, here at Vital Luton Town, we covered the emergency loan signing of Alex Palmer.

In our article – Luton-forced-to-sign-new-goalkeeper-amid-injury-crisis – we dithered over whether Alex Palmer or Harry Isted would start, in the fixture at Middlesbrough this afternoon.

Personally, I thought that after his display against Chelsea, Nathan Jones should stick with Harry Isted.

However, it appears that, according to the EFL rule book, Nathan has very little choice regarding the matter, as the following post shows:

Let’s just hope that those in charge of such matters, at Kenilworth Road, are aware of this ruling, otherwise it could be embarrassing.

It could mean, with Palmer between the sticks, there might be a few awkward moments during the early stages of the game as he gets used to those playing just in front of him.

But does anyone else, feel for Harry Isted, who has done nothing wrong?

Hi mh, I think this has happened before. Straight from kick off put the ball in touch. And replace the keeper. Rule complied with job done. If we don’t I think we will lose. I could be wrong and hope I am. The boy is considered a prospect an had a good season at Lincoln.

Jones has to go with Palmer very good keeper he has experience Istead is to inexperienced at this level no disrespect to him he should be proud of his performance against Chelsea lets hope for a winn today any news on Adebayo and Lansbury injury status

A season with Lincoln in div 2. Isted has been here 4 yrs an shown loyalty after we dumped him at the end of last season. He resigned as no 3 keeper and has earned his place. I don’t give a s**t for ethics the efl has none after our treatment so b****cks to them. An palmer has never played with the team a disaster waiting to happen.

Adebayo starts, Lansbury on the bench.

isted must feel really p####d off after his great display against chelsea. as i said before they must have great patience, just waiting for that chance. keeper today not to bad, but he has never played in this group, and it showed. boro are really good at time wasting especially there keeper. maybe more yellow cards should be shown, might help to stamp it out.COYH.

Let’s hope Harrys display at Chelsea gets him a good offer from elsewhere. Best player in the team on the night and NJ didn’t even give him a mention post match.
