Following the announcement that Luton Town had secured the services of Alex Palmer, on loan, we thought we’d run another of our mini fact files.
Palmer, when he makes his Luton debut, will become the 5th keeper to play for Luton this season, following in the footsteps of Simon Sluga, James Shea, Jed Steer and Harry Isted, I wonder is that a first?
But what do we know about the 25-year-old?
Here are a few basic facts:
Full Name – Alexander Palmer
Date of Birth – 10-August-1996
Place of Birth – Kidderminster, England
Height – 6 feet 3 inches
Position – Goalkeeper
Youth Career – West Bromwich Albion
Professional Career – West Bromwich Albion, Kidderminster Harriers (loan), Oldham Athletic (loan), Notts County (loan), Plymouth Argyle (loan), Lincoln City (loan), Luton Town (loan)
International Honours – England U16
Interestingly, Palmer has yet to make a league appearance for West Bromwich Albion but did make his debut for the club in the EFL Cup, in August 2021, against Arsenal, a tie in which his side were beaten 6-0.
As can be seen from the facts above, Palmer has spent much of his career, so far, out on loan, his shortage loan period being back in November 2018 when he spent 7 days at Oldham on another emergency loan.
I’m sure you will join me in wishing Alex all the best as he begins what we hope will be a memorable journey with Luton Town during his time with us.
