Yesterday, and we make no apologies for it, Vital Luton had a lot to say about the signing of the Motherwell midfielder, Allan Campbell.

The signing of the 22-year-old midfielder was a real coup and our poll proves that his signing has got the thumbs up from the Hatters support with 96% giving it their approval.

But just how far can the young Scot go in the game?

With international football dominating our thoughts, courtesy of the ongoing EURO 2020 tournament, it seems that Campbell has a deep desire to play for his country.

Already, Campbell has made an impression at U21 level where he sits in third place in the all-time Scottish list when it comes to the number of caps he has won, 24, with only Christian Dailly and Steven Pressley having won more caps.

Talking to the official Hatters site: Click Here, the youngster has reiterated his desire to burst onto the full international scene, remarking:

“I got a taste of the 21s and once you get over that age then you strive to get into the men’s squad. Seeing the Scotland fans and the buzz about the Euro’s, you have a real bit in your belly to try and be there and hopefully I can come here, perform well and try and get in the manager’s eye.”

Well, the Championship is an ideal stage to perform on, especially if Luton, prompted by Campbell in midfield, can produce a string of decent results.

But it is an ambition that the legend that is Mick Harford is keen for Campbell to realise with Mick remarking:

“Hopefully we will develop him and make him better and hopefully he can go on and make the next step.

“My ambition for Allan is hopefully get him into the Scotland squad, get some Scotland caps and progress.”

Could it be a case of not if but when?

Just out of interest watched Wales game last night. An saw Morrell play again. Yet again ran around pointing but doing very little. What did we see in him to buy him!!!!

watching him play reminded me of a sheepdog, constantly skirting around the action but never actually getting involved, just gesticulating to others.
On the plus side, his presence in the euro’s should enable us to get our money back on him which wasn’t looking likely prior to the euro’s starting.

  • Alan says:

Sorry but pelly is better than Morrell…

  • Alan says:

Chris, I think we are both talking about the same striker….do you think he will suit and compliment they NJ wants to play…

    • Chris winter says:

Hi Alan, we can only hope that he can fit in with how nj wants to play. Then again maybe nj wants to go with a different formation at times. An that’s why he’s looking to get in 2 strikers. So he can switch it. I suspect adebayo will play like last season an feed off which ever player he partners.

    • Chris winter says:

I think adebayo will continue in the left channel an swap like he did last year as an when he needs to an the new boy will be playing down the middle.

  • Alan says:

Be good if the deal gets done….
