Luton In The Race To Land Premier League Defender On Loan

With the finances of several clubs stretched by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic preventing supporters from, once again, gracing the grounds, it is expected that this summer, the Hatters will take full advantage of the loan system.

Last season, if we had to pick one, Cameron Carter-Vickers was the best of the crop of those that arrived at Kenilworth Road, on loan.

Sadly, Carter-Vickers has returned to his parent club Tottenham Hotspur and although many Hatters fans would like to see the club sign the central defender – luton-loan-ace-is-up-for-grabs – it is, due to the fee Tottenham want, looking unlikely.

However, the local media source, Luton Today is running with the inference that the Hatters are looking towards Anfield for their next loan signing with the young Liverpool left-back, Adam Lewis, being on Nathan Jones radar.

Lewis, just 20-years-of-age, is an England youth international and has made his debut for Liverpool but the recent capture of Kostas Tsimikas, by the current Premier League title holders, has pushed Lewis down the pecking order.

On the surface, this would seem like an ideal opportunity for all parties involved to benefit.

Hopefully, the Hatters hierarchy can come to an agreement with their Liverpool counterparts.

Hi mh, I discussed with Alan this item on a previous post. An I think that by the end of the week he an 1 other player will be joining us. An don’t give up yet on ccv joining us.

I’m certainly in favour of getting young premier league players on loan. It would be interesting to see if he would be ahead of Potts in the pecking order.

As regards Carter-Vickers I’m sure he’ll be snapped up by a “wealthy” championship club. The only way we could possibly afford him would be if either, or both, of the Norwich full backs are sold for a substantial fee as I believe we’d be due a slice (10% ?) of the proceeds. We will certainly need another centre-back, hopefully another loan of a premier league youngster.

Hi all ccv would be a massive signing. The young left back also, but as I have mentioned before, now bree has gone we have no recognised right back…kioso, potts, Galloway, ( when fit) and the youngster all left sided…

The young Wolves lad looks very handy but that’s just clips from U23 games. Certainly quick, technical and composed.
