The hope is that, before the summer transfer window closes, Nathan Jones can add another midfielder to his squad.
It is something Jones has talked about on several occasions and something, here at Vital Luton Town, we have previously covered – just-one-more-signing – but, with the anticipation levels rising, it appears one player who many would love to see back at Kenilworth Road, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, will not be the one added to the squad.
Dewsbury-Hall, who made 40 appearances for Luton while on loan from Leicester City last season, would be many a Luton fans choice to fill the void but, as reported by Luton Today, Jones has confirmed there is no chance of that happening, commenting on the situation:
“Kiernan’s done fantastically well.
“To be fair, it’s bittersweet really because we’d love to have him back but if we can’t get him back we want him to be in Leicester’s team.
“I spoke to Brendan this week and he’s categorically staying with them.”
It is a shame but having returned to Leicester, it appears that the 22-year-old continues to go from strength-to-strength making his Premier League debut in Leicester’s 2-1 win away to Norwich.
The Hatters uncovered a real gem when they grabbed the opportunity to take Dewsbury-Hall on loan, when it comes to loan spells there are, inevitably, winners and losers, Dewsbury-Hall was definitely a winner.
With cash being tight, at Kenilworth Road, my guess, as Nathan seeks to bring a midfielder to Kenilworth Road, is that it will be a youngster linked to a Premier League club and I am seriously hoping it is someone of the calibre of Dewsbury-Hall, is that too much to ask for?
