Luton - How Many Points Will September Bring?

It only seems like yesterday that the 2021/2022 Championship season got underway but already September is looming large.

August saw the Hatters play 5 Championship games accumulating 7 points from the possible maximum 15 available, courtesy of wins against Peterborough United (h) and Barnsley (a) and a draw against Sheffield United (h).

Those 7 points see Luton Town sitting in 12th place, the same position we finished the 2020/2021 season in.

But what can we expect from September?

The Hatters, pandemic permitting, are scheduled to play 5 games, 3 away from home and 2 at home, with the fixtures scheduled as below:

• 11 September – Blackburn Rovers (a)
• 15 September – Bristol City (a)
• 18 September – Swansea City (h)
• 25 September – Bournemouth (a)
• 29 September – Coventry City (h)

Among those five fixtures are games against two sides that I believe will be challenging for promotion – Swansea City (h) and Bournemouth (a), while there does not appear to be any easy games among the other three.

It could be, to put it mildly, a difficult month.

But, looking into your own crystal balls, how many points do you perceive Nathan Jones and his side will accumulate during the month of September?
