With ten games to go, in the 2021/2022 season, Luton have as good a chance as any of claiming one of the four play-off places.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) the Hatters welcome Preston North End, to Kenilworth Road, for a fixture Luton need to win to make up for the disappointment of losing to Queens Park Rangers, on Sunday.

As has become the norm, we are running this article to focus on how our opponents’ season, on Wednesday night, has gone, in this case Preston North End.

Preston have played 37 Championship games this season, 1 more than Luton, of those 37 games they have won 12, drawn 15 and lost 10, scoring 40 goals and conceding 40 goals, giving them a goal difference of 0.

As a result, they sit comfortably in mid-table, 13th to be precise, having accumulated 51 points.

Their recent form is not that impressive, with the last 5 games providing the following results – LDDWD – giving them 6 points out of the maximum 18 available.

When it comes to a top scorer, look no further than Emil Riis Jakobsen who has netted an impressive 17 times.

As for a player to watch, I’ve chosen Scott Sinclair, who once played for Chelsea, in the Premier League, before embarking on a journey that has also seen him play for, prior to Chelsea – Bristol Rovers and after Chelsea:

• Plymouth (loan)
• Queens Park Rangers (loan)
• Charlton Athletic (loan)
• Crystal Palace (loan)
• Birmingham City (loan)
• Wigan Athletic (loan)
• Swansea City
• Manchester City
• West Bromwich Albion (loan)
• Aston Villa (loan)
• Aston Villa
• Celtic

Quite an impressive list I’m sure you’ll agree.

As for the reciprocating fixture, at Deepdale, the Hatters lost 2-0, back in October 2021.
