Cup Draw - Fans Views Are Far From Welcoming

Earlier today, here at Vital Luton Town, I gave my views on the far from scintillating FA Cup 3rd round draw we’ve been handed.

My article – and-so-wigan-it-is-then-in-the-fa-cup – confirmed that the only positive was that the tie was a home tie.

Visiting social media, it seems that is a view shared by others:

While another posting was quick to plead that our lads don’t let Wigan do a home double over us:

Of course, earlier this season, on 3RD September 2022, Wigan came to Kenilworth Road, for a Championship fixture, winning 2-1 in front of an attendance of 9,885, a figure I’d be amazed if the draw we’ve been given were to be matched.

Continuing, another poster foresaw the possibility of a Wigan Athletic fixture glut:

Replay and two trips to wigan in a week 😭

with the Hatters scheduled to play Wigan (a) on 21st January 2023, surely, we won’t be landed with two long trips to the north-west in a matter of days?
