Luton - A Win And Revenge Is On The Menu

Can you believe it? This Saturday sees the last Luton Town fixture take place before another international break rudely interrupts the 2021/2022 season.

But what a fixture to look forward, a visit from Stoke City, the side Nathan Jones left us for before returning, after Stoke dispensed with his services, to us again.

It is not the first time the two clubs have met since the managerial switchover, but it is the first time it has happened since spectators were allowed back into grounds following the interference of COVID19 in our existence.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the visiting fans greet the appearance of their former boss!

But, getting back to the fixture itself, it is the perfect chance for Luton to consolidate their position, in the Championship table, before we head into the third international break of the season.

The Hatters enter this game sat in 8th place in the table with their last five fixtures producing the following run of results – WDWLW, or to put it another way, 10 points out of the last 15 available.

As for Stoke City, they occupy 6th place in the table with one point more than Luton and their last five fixtures have seen them register – LLLDW, a mere 4 points from the last 15 available.

So how do we see this one going?

Taking a look at our poll associated with the game, the home support are confident with 71% of those voting believing, like Middlesbrough, Stoke City can be put to the sword, with a further 18% reckoning the honours will be shared and the remaining 11% reckoning it will be the Stoke support that will be celebrating.

But how does Sky Sports resident Championship expert, David Prutton, see this one going?

Well, he is forecasting a 2-1 win to the Hatters, a result I am sure you would all appreciate.

Last season, the two games between the sides saw Stoke win 2-0 at Kenilworth Road and completing the double with a 3-0 win on their home patch.

Time for revenge methinks!
