Something of a personal article, but very apt, to kick things off with today, if you don’t mind.
I’ve always had mixed fortunes about the New Year Honours List, some of those who get acknowledged do so with my admirations whilst other who get acknowledged just bring a huge sigh from me.
Deep down I guess I wouldn’t object to be rewarded with an honour myself, perhaps this is the year, perhaps with yesterday being New Years Day, today Sunday and Monday a Bank Holiday, my reward will arrive in the post on Tuesday morning.
An MBE for ‘just getting on with life without complaining too much’ isn’t too much to ask for, is it?
Well possibly, I can but dream on.
However, it would be so damned rude not to mention that somebody on the board of directors, at Kenilworth Road, has received recognition, with Rob Stringer receiving a CBE.
Congratulations to our director and lifelong Hatter, Rob Stringer CBE, on being recognised in the New Year’s Honours! 👏 #COYH https://t.co/PDvpc7PKSE pic.twitter.com/VwHV4JMO4M
