Somebody has a huge decision to make!
With the new season almost upon us and the Hatters involved in their pre-season schedule, speculation has emerged that one of the more prominent members of the current squad could, possibly, be leaving Kenilworth Road
According to the news source, the Birmingham Mail, the Hatters have received an offer, from West Bromwich Albion, for Jack Stacey.
Stacey, who signed for Luton from Reading last summer, was a prominent member of the Hatters promotion-winning side last season, making 45 appearances.
Discussing the situation, the Hatters manager, Nathan Jones, is reported by our source as having remarked,
“We’ve had an enquiry for Jack, so while that’s going on, we just want his mind to be focused.
“We’ve had lots of bids for Jack, we’ve had a bid that a team in question is discussing with us and we’ve been very strong in things that we’ve done.”
Clearly, the club has a big decision to make, do they allow Stacey, if the price is right, move to a Championship club or do they decide to reject any bid but fearing that the player might be itching to move?
Also, you’d have to consider what a fair price for the player would be and whether there is sufficient time to source a replacement.
Here at Vital Luton, we’d be disappointed if Jack were to move on but we’re perfectly aware that everyone has a price, over the coming days we’ll endeavour to keep an eye open for any developments and report back as deemed necessary.
