The 2018 / 2019 League One campaign is looming large on the horizon.

Yesterday, the Hatters played another of the fixtures that comprise their pre-season schedule.

After being beaten, at home, by Norwich City in midweek, Nathan Jones was looking for his squad to get back to winning ways, as they prepare for that opening day fixture against Portsmouth, against Notts County.

Jones got his wish as the Hatters put on a prominent display to beat Notts County, at Kenilworth Road, 2-0, with the goals coming from Jorge Grant and Elliot Lee.

After the game, speaking to the local media and as reported by, Dunstable Today, Jones had this to say about the win,

“This has been tailored for this test as we knew Notts County are a very good League Two side, a League One side basically, as they are a good side, who have strengthened well.

“So we knew it would be a realistic test, and I’m delighted as from start to finish, I thought we were excellent.

Yes, the Hatters were and the anticipation levels for the new season are fast climbing, however, we’re under no illusions that there will be tougher tests ahead for the Hatters, especially during the first few matches of the season when Luton encounter two heavyweights in the shape of Portsmouth and Sunderland.

But, there’s no doubting exciting times lie ahead.
