You Can Do Your Bit To Help Luton Town

With the government announcement, from Michael Gove MP, that the planned re-introduction of supporters into football grounds, from October, will be postponed, we await the inevitable financial problems it will bring.

After the demise of Macclesfield Town and with Southend United and Wigan Athletic also engulfed in financial woes, we could see several familiar names disappear from the scene.

We can pray all we like that the government will offer some sort of financial assistance to the EFL or that the big-boys of the Premier League will shift some of their bucket loads of cash our way, but there is no guarantee it will be forthcoming.

Therefore, it is at times like this it is left to us supporters to do our bit.

On Saturday, I popped into the club shop, in Park Square, to survey the wares that were on offer and spent a few quid that I hope will help the club.

While in the shop, I inquired about purchasing an official programme for the Derby County match, only to be told that they must be ordered online.

Further investigation revealed that ordering one online will cost £5, including postage and packing, and that they will be sent out a couple of days after the game.

It appears that only the number ordered will be printed, which is understandable during the present financial climate.

I also discovered there will be a programme available for the game against Manchester United this evening and with the above steps being adhered to, it could be quite a collectors’ item in years to come.

But, in these COVID-19 driven times, I urge you to all do your bit and help ease any financial pressure the club might be experiencing by either visiting the club shop or buying online, every penny helps.
