The changing face of the Luton Town squad has been a very talkative subject this close season.
Paul Buckle obviously used his time wisely after he took after two thirds of the way through the 2011/2012 season.
As well as guiding us to the play-off final and almost achieving promotion, Buckle seemingly took time out to study the squad with a view to who he felt could serve him in a promotion campaign this season and who he felt he could let go.
Naturally, in some circumstances, contractual situations became the over-riding factor with the board looking to make cut-backs to bring in those players Buckle identified as being the ones to boost a promotion challenge.
Now whether Buckle has made good calls only time will tell but, in the local rag this weekend, he did infer that there may be further exits from the Kenilworth Road dressing room remarking,
“I`ve had some phone calls on a few of our boys.”
“I`ve had some calls about Andre (Boucard), Dean (Beckwith) and quite a lot of the boys.”
“I`ve got a good relationship with all the players.”
“They want to play and if one of them asked if they`d be in my starting eleven, I`ll give them a truthful answer.”
“I want everyone energized but there`s every chance that there will be movement before the season starts.”
With Beckwith already identified as a possible departure, is anybody prepared to suggest who else might become history?
