I`m sensing there is an element of anger amongst the Hatters support today.

The news that broke around lunch-time, relating to Isaac Vassell being sold to Birmingham City, hasn`t gone down well.

With the Hatters having dispensed of the services of Jack Marriott, who scored his first Football League hat-trick, on Saturday, whilst wearing the colours of Peterborough United, things are looking a bit lightweight up front.

But it would that the Hatters did well to hang onto Vassell for as long as they did.

At a press conference this morning, Nathan Jones explained the situation and how Vassell was intent on moving on, with the boss remarking,

‘We tried absolutely everything to get him to sign a contract at the football club. We turned down as many offers as we could.

‘I praise the board for staying as strong as they did for so long. He was adamant he wanted to leave and we wish him all the best. I’m relieved it’s done because it was starting to distract.’

We understand, but we`re still angry and disappointed though!
