Luton – The Day after THAT Announcement

The shock announcement that broke yesterday, relating to Isaac Vassell being sold to Birmingham City, stunned us all.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we were caught a little off-guard, perhaps under-estimating the clamour there was, from other clubs, for his services.

In the end, it would appear that Vassell`s desire to better himself and the fact that Birmingham City offered the Hatters a huge sum of money for the striker, meant that a move was always on the cards.

Whilst Luton Town Football Club suggested the fee was to be ‘undisclosed, the media are hinting that the fee was somewhere in the region of £1 million.

Now whether Nathan Jones will get the opportunity to use that money to strengthen his squad, before the summer transfer window closes, remains to be seen.

But Vassell leaves Kenilworth Road after scoring 16 goals in 32 starts, a more than decent record.

It also appears that the lad isn`t short on confidence, remarking to the media after signing for Birmingham City,

“I`m quick, powerful and I`ve got an eye for goal. Probably a defenders nightmare.”

That remains to be seen as Vassell tries his luck in a league two rungs up the ladder, but we wish him well and will be keeping an eye on how he progresses.
