And so, the quest to obtain Premier League football, next season, begins in earnest this evening.
Up in the north-east, the Hatters take on Sunderland, in the first leg of the Play-Off semi-final, cheered on by a 2000 strong travelling army, among a 50,000 crowd.
League positions go out of the window in these encounters, Luton Town may have finished in third position, some eleven points ahead of sixth placed Sunderland, but, over the two legs, it now resembles cup football, a two-legged passion filled tie that could go either way.
All credit to Sunderland who, last season, were in the League One play-offs, as for the Hatters, let’s hope we fare better than we did last year when we were narrowly beaten by Huddersfield Town, at same stage of the play-offs.
