A matter of days after the EFL Championship got underway, the Hatters now find themselves involved in a Carabao Cup tie.
The draw for the first round gave Luton a tie against their local neighbours Stevenage.
With Stevenage playing in League Two, the tie has the potential for a giant killing.
Even more so when you consider the Carabao Cup is low on Luton’s priority list and the temptation may be there to play a starting eleven far different from that which was selected for the opening Championship fixture of the season, against Peterborough United.
But, even so, I fully expect Luton to emerge victorious and go into the draw for the second round which will include those sides that play in the Premier League apart from those participating in European competitions
