Last season we watched on as big-spending Crawley topped the Conference and took their place in the Football League.
As we`re all aware, Crawley spent big to achieve their ambition.
This season, Gary Brabin has been at pains to point out that the Conference is as tight as ever when it comes to topping the table with several clubs keen to splash some cash to realize their objectives, amongst them being Fleetwood, Forest Green, Newport, Cambridge and Gateshead.
Speaking to the local media, Gary had this to say about investment exceeding the expectations some others may have about these clubs, commenting,
“They`ve all invested heavily and believe there is a realistic chance of getting promoted.”
“I just think the league is getting more and more competitive.”
Then we`d better make sure we climb out of it this season!
