Nothing can beat the pride you feel for playing for your local boyhood team.
Yesterday, 20 year old Adam Watkins not only pulled on the shirt of the club he loves but he scored the goal that got us into the next round of the FA Cup.
Naturally, Adam was ambushed by the local journalists after the game and this is what he had to say about scoring that winning goal and his love of playing for the Hatters,
“I was only in the stands three years ago so it`s a great feeling.”
“I know what the fans want, I know what they like and hopefully I can give a little bit of that.”
“I was delighted to get the win for the boys – that`s the main thing – but it`s great to com eon, score the winner and cause a bit of an upset.”
“I think it was the most difficult finish I`ve had.”
“It was on my weakest foot as well, but I`m delighted just to score and get the boys through to the next round.”
One more next round Adam and we can start dreaming of a trip to Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge or even Vicarage Road!
