The Hatters head off to Wales this weekend needing a win.

Recent league performances have seen them tumble out of the play-off positions and whilst several within the club may harp on about it being a long season, we simply can`t afford to slip too far behind.

I`m still of the opinion that this is the most crucial season in our history, if we can`t climb out of the Conference this time around we could find ourselves stuck in this damn league for a few years yet, and the loyal support (the besting the division) surely deserve better.

Unfortunately, the Hatters head off to Wales with a few injury concerns.

Out of contention or said to be struggling are;- Amari Morgan-Smith and Kevin Keane with Brabin remarking in the local media about Morgan-Smith`s absence,

“Certainly Amari still won`t be ready. That will be fir sure. It`s a bit of back/hamstring injury which are both connected.”

And as for Keane, Brabin added,

“Keith, we will see how that goes this week. It`s too early in the week to assess that and we are just concentrating on the group who are fit at the moment and working hard with the ones who aren`t to try to get them up to speed.”

“Keane`s problem is in his buttocks. At the moment it`s still far too early to say.”

However, the squad is boosted by the fact that several players were able t prove their fitness in the midweek reserve fixture over Stevenage with Shane Blackett, Dean Beckwith, Will Antwi, Dan Glesson, Robbie Wilmott, Danny Crow, Adam Watkins and John-Paul Kissock all getting valuable match time.

So whilst there are some injury problems the cupboard isn`t bare.

Brabin also has a dilemma over whether to give young Ryan Brunt a start after the youngster impressed, with a hat-trick, in the reference fixture.

But, as we all contemplate a long trip across the border, we`ll leave you with a few words from Brabin that sum our predicament,

“We`ve got to show what a good bunch of players and good team we are.”

I couldn`t have put it better myself!
