In a little over three weeks, the Hatters will begin their EFL Championship season with a home fixture against Peterborough United.

All Luton supporters will be hoping that their side will get the 2021/2022 season underway with a victory.

Some two weeks ago, looking ahead to the first 10 games of the new season, in the following article – those-first-ten-games – we took the opportunity, via our poll, to ask you the very pertinent question –

Luton – First 10 Games – A Good Start Would Be?

We gave you three options to choose from:

20 – 25 points
14 – 19 points
9 – 13 points

Obviously, getting a good start to the season is of paramount importance, a good start would set the tone for what could be a magnificent season with a bad start having the opposite effect.

However, the situation at Luton may be slightly more complicated than at other clubs with Nathan Jones, at the time of writing, having recruited 7 new players who could take time to gel with those that remain from last season.

So, getting to the crux of the article, how did you vote?

Well, 62% are of the opinion that a return of 14-19 points, from those first 10 games would be a good start.

But 30% have higher aspirations believing that 20-25 points would satisfy their idea of a good start.

As for the remaining 8%, they would be happy with just 9-13 points, or around a point a game.

Looking at the fixtures, the Hatters have some tough games in their opening 10 fixtures, so I would be inclined to agree with the majority that a return of 14-19 points would be the perfect foundation upon which our season can progress.

But what are your feelings?

Morning mh, I don’t know if like me you noticed the line ups last night. But I’m wondering what is going on in the goalkeeping depth. Isted gets 60 mins an our junior gets 30 mins!!! No shea. Are we giving isted the opportunity to showcase himself as he’s been released or giving him another contract after all. Is our new signing a keeper? I think it’s all very strange I know slugs returns next week. But surely won’t be ready for the new season start. As we have so many new players he doesn’t know how they play. What’s your view

    • Mad Hatter says:

It’s a puzzling one. I’d hope they are giving Isted a chance, perhaps a case of the better the devil you know. Perhaps Shea is being wrapped in cotton wool in case he picks up an injury, if he did we would be in trouble.

      • Chris winter says:

I agree with you about shea. But why let isted go then use him constantly. The only reason I can think of is they have failed in the search for a 3rd keeper.

or can’t find one willing to be third choice or match a salary!

New signing not a keeper….Admiral Muskwe from Leicester…..another young player

Hi , guys is morrel really that bad , I have not seen much of him last season but did watch him in the euros and I must admit he was poor passing and getting caught out of position for some of the goals but was that down to better players ?

  • Chris winter says:

Hi guys another forward that’s what 7 possible starter’s. Got to be some outgoings shortly. I’m still concerned about the keeping situation though

  • Alan says:

    Pelly off to Turkey??????

  • Alan says:

He goes and we could be left with our own turkey…..

    • Chris winter says:

I didn’t go last night Alan so this is second hand. But he hasn’t changed his usual style. An was a waste of space. Got to be sold on

  • Alan says:

I didn’t go either, but I heard he was poor and didn’t seem interested…..

Hi Andrew, my informant is a senior beds f. A. Coach who was at the game. His assessment was a player who looks unhappy an disinterested with the game at the moment. He may be unable to concentrate an do the basics. That was his assessment also last season his training was poor. He was supposed to have an injury but it was never fully found. Yet he was fit to go to euros. He needs to be in a new environment elsewhere is my feeling

  • Andrew says:

Thanks Chris , sounds like he should move on as you say NJ can’t get it right all the time , but I must say on the whole I am quite excited with most of the players he has brought in . Let’s hope for a good season still hope for a cup run coyh
