Interesting to see, on social media, how everybody likes to belittle our little club.
While several can recognise what a magnificent achievement if has been, for a club on such a small budget, to finish third in the EFL Championship and reach the play-offs, others, take a great sense of achievement in hoping we fall at the next step.
Surfing the net, I came across the following post:
You’d be the worst team to ever get promoted if you somehow manage it. Sunderland will absolutely maul u though so u won’t

Must have taken the writer all of 30 seconds to vent his feelings, perhaps we should remind him, as I pointed out in an article published last week – a-tough-task-awaits-us – the two games between the two clubs, this season, have been very tight:
• Luton Town 1 Sunderland 1
• Sunderland 1 Luton Town 1
Indeed, many will claim that in the fixture at The Stadium of Light, the Hatters were deprived of a win courtesy of an appalling penalty decision awarded by the referee, resulting in Sunderland getting an undeserved equaliser.
However, one post did catch my attention, for a completely different reason, when it was pointed out:
It will be the smallest stadium club V the biggest stadium club in the playoffs

Since when did size matter?
Like I’m always telling the wife, better to have a diamond than a brick!
Like someone pointed out to me, over the weekend, Bournemouth’s ground has a capacity of only, circa 600 more than our quaint old ground.

sounds like a frightened sunderland fan is showing his fear. please accept your defeat gracefully when it comes. if you come to luton, enjoy the unbeleivable atmosphere that this small ground creates. sometimes size matters!!!. get a life dic#head. COYH.
There’s no way Luton can ever overcome Sunderland. We are massive. I live in Bristol, and everyone is in awe of our support.
