The announcement of the starting XI may have divided public opinion, but, in my opinion, it was the right thing to do.
The Hatters stand on the precipice of a place in the top-flight of English football and it would have been ludicrous, in a game where there was little at stake, except pride, to risk our key players.
As it turned out, those who came in performed well and will be ready, for action, in case we pick up any unfortunate injuries at The Stadium of Light next Saturday.
Speaking to the local BBC, our honest gaffer took time out to explain his decision to rest players whilst also commenting on the game itself, remarking:
“Today was about resting key players, making sure we didn’t risk anyone unnecessarily and giving some players some game time, because over the next couple of games if they’re needed, we want them up to speed.
“It was overall a successful day. There were some good moments from all the lads who have not been in as much recently. We created one or two chances but the game sort of fizzled out a bit towards the end. There were some good things out there today.
There were, but, hopefully, better things are to come before we finally say goodbye to what has, already, been a monumental season.

Luton – And So It Is Sunderland In The Play-Off Semi Final
With how we went into last season’s play offs in mind decimated by key injuries.rob got it dead right. We have to be at full strength an up for it. Unlike last season an poor selection picking by management. We have the 3? Most important games to come an need to be at the top of our game.
no room for error, especially in the first game, quieten the crowd and kill the game
