Unable to journey to the north-west, last Saturday, I tuned into Soccer Saturday to keep in touch with how Luton were doing against Preston.
Ahead of the game starting, the Soccer Saturday presenter, Jeff Stelling, interrupted proceedings to announce that after close to 30-years and with 25 of those years spent presenting the reference programme, he would be leaving Sky at the end of the season.
Giving very little away, he suggested he was stepping down to give somebody else the chance to ‘present the best programme in the world’.
The announcement came, to me, as a bit of a shock, if I am not watching Luton, Soccer Saturday has always been my port of call to see how the action is going.
But, thinking about it, has Jeff’s departure been hastened by the changing landscape we now live in?
But more importantly, who will be brave enough to step into Jeff’s shoes?
Has anyone got any clues or suggestions they would like to share with us?

I would love to see kammy take over
is it me or does Kammy not seem as fluent these days?
Don’t see it often being at games. But I assume he still is on?
