Luton – Well Played Referee And The Other Officials

It is only fair is it not to praise the officials who handled the game yesterday when praise is certainly due.

After all, I and several others who frequent this site, have not been slow in coming forward in criticising those who refereed several of our fixtures this season.

But, yesterday, down at Wembley, I thought that Michael Oliver, and his team, got almost everything right.

Okay, there may have been a few niggly fouls given the wrong way but the BIG decisions they got spot on.

I might not have felt so at the time but reviewing the three goals that were disallowed, they were spot on.

Osho was, unfortunately just offside before the ball was bundled over the line.

Adebayo did, unfortunately, handle the ball before netting.

And, Taylor’s goal was handball but the strange thing being if he’d have squared it to Morris, for Carlton to subsequently score, the goal might well, as the laws currently stand, stood.

So, let’s hear it for the referee, and his team, for once they got it spot on, let’s hope there’s more of the same in the Premier League next season.

Agree mh, I’d also like to point out Joe Taylor’s contribution not only for the disallowed goal but being the second of our penalty takers an taking on that responsibility showed that though only weeks ago was a league 1 player.had the balls to put himself in place at the front of the queue before more established players.

nothing but admiration for the lad, loved how he kissed the ball before placing it on the spot

Was mulling over this morning how good the ref was for the match, decisive and got just about everything right, made VAR redundant.
