Already promoted Sheffield United are the visitors on saturday to Kenilworth Road. Luton will want to avenge a 4-0 reverse at Bramall Lane when the Haand Jagielka are dounbtfultters matched them for most of the game but fell foul of a second half purple patch by the blades. The two managers are like chalk and cheese; Newell keeps himself under control for the most part wwhile Neil Warnock is verbally incontinent and can’t avoid controversy!

Vital Quotes:

Mike Newell on www.lutontown.co.uk:

‘The lads will be giving it everything. Everybody we play, we know are capable of playing in the first-team. It might be mix-and-match and they might be playing out of position, but they are all capable footballers.

‘It is always nice to finish the season in front of your own supporters with a win, but I think if that doesn’t happen then people will understand the reasons. We are playing a side that have just been promoted into the Premier League and we are down to the bare bones, but that doesn’t mean we are not capable of winning.’

Neil Warnock on the blades’ official site:

Warnock explains: ‘It doesn’t look good, we’ve had a bit of a bug. Ifill and reserve goalkeeper Barnes are definitely out and Webber and Jagielka are doubtful – it’s just fortunate that this didn’t happen two weeks ago.

‘On top of that Monty (leg) and Short (shin) will miss Saturday, Kozluk has a hamstring injury and then there is Quinn, Flitcroft and Bromby, who will all miss the rest of the season.

‘We’ve brought Gillespie, Francis, Forte and Deane back into the squad, I don’t really want to disturb the loan lads. We have got a lot of fans travelling and we will give a good account of ourselves.’

Luton Town Team News:

Luton are down to the bare bones again with no Nicholls, Underwood, Coyne, or Robinson. Doubtful but with some chance of playing are Davis, Foley, Heikkinen and Perrett, which would leave only one recognised central defender in Leon Barnett, so Howard may have to play there again.

Player to watch: Rowan Vine

Looked possessed on Monday!

Sheffield United Team News:

Sheffield United are also depleted with Ifill, Kozluk Quinn Flitcroft , Bromby and Short out, and Webber and Jagielka are doubtful.

So it looks like Luton Reserves v Sheffield United Reserves!

Player to watch: Steve Kabba

Returning players always seem to score here! Although he got little chance under BFJ he didn’t set the Kenny alight, but I wouldn’t mind seeing him in the Town side next season.

Match Prediction:

Luton Reserves 1 Sheffield United Reserves 1!

Next Fixtures:

Sunday 30 April: Turf Moor Burnley v Luton – Last of the season.
