I’m not expecting a deluge of transfer speculation surrounding the Hatters this January but I’ve no doubt we will get a mention.
Yesterday, we reported on a rumour that, to many, is a little far-fetched – luton-could-lose-this-striker-in-the-january-transfer-window – with the insinuation being that Newcastle United could make a deft swoop to relieve Luton of the services of Elijah Adebayo.
Sat here in the editorial chair, I would be surprised if it were to happen, with Newcastle United’s Premier League future on the line, recruiting somebody who could still be referred to as a rookie would be a big risk.
It is a line that our poll, posted yesterday, confirms with 67% believing Adebayo will stay at Kenilworth Road with the remaining 33% of the opinion he will leave for Newcastle.
Naturally, those who frequent social media, have their views on the subject matter and the common theme I noticed, as the posts below illustrate, is that Adebayo should stay;

But there is that lingering thought that, when it comes to our club, as history confirms, money often talks:
Every transfer window with the exception of losing James Justin and Jack Stacey has improved us and I’m sure Nathan and his team will be backed by the board yet again and let’s be honest 12 million for two players was too much to turn down

But how much would Adebayo bring in?
Would it be worth the sacrifice if a big wedge of cash was deposited in the clubs’ bank account?
But, looking to air both sides of the social media story, I did find one post that would like to see Adebayo sold:
Hurry up and sign for Newcastle we could really do with the sell on money 💰

Naturally, it came from a Walsall supporter, I guess we can’t blame him for wanting to look after his own clubs’ fortunes!
