There is no denying that it has, already, been an extraordinary summer transfer window for Luton Town and its support.

Who would have believed that in the first few weeks of the close season, the Hatters would have recruited a magnificent seven new players, with the list reading:

• Fred Onyedinma
• Allan Campbell
• Reece Burke
• Cameron Jerome
• Henri Lansbury
• Amari’i Bell

and

• Carlos Mendes Gomes

But it appears the recruitment could still be far from over.

According to the local news source Luton Today, Nathan Jones is looking to add two more new signings to the squad who have now resumed pre-season training at The Brache.

Indeed, our referenced source carries the following quotes from Nathan himself, quotes which read:

“We definitely would like to do at least two bits more business.

“Things are well in hand in terms of who we want, we’ve probably had 12 recruitment meetings now over the last 12 weeks, as we’ve had a meeting every week and updates and gone for targets.”

So, who are Luton targeting as signings eight and nine?

Well, here at Vital Luton Town, we are not party to any names but if pressed we would suggest the two targets could well be a goalkeeper and another striker.

On the keeping front, we only have the two experienced keepers on our books, Simon Sluga and James Shea, while, up front, we could do with a nimble goal poacher to feed off Elijah Adebayo, Cameron Jerome and Carlos Mendes Gomes, whichever of the three are played down the middle.

Hopefully, the deals can be done quickly so that any new players can be integrated into the squad during the pre-season campaign.
