After two home defeats on the bounce, the Hatters are back on the road this weekend with a trip to take on Bournemouth, at the Vitality Stadium.

With a gap appearing between those occupying the relegation spots and safety, it is, I’d say, essential we get something from this game.

Back in January 2021, here at Vital Luton, I covered Bournemouth in our ‘They Played for Both’ series, Click Here, where after much deliberation, I posted the following starting XI (plus substitute)

Goalkeeper – David Button

Defender – Jack Stacey
Defender – Cameron Carter-Vickers
Defender – Keith Rowland
Defender – Martin Cranie

Midfielder – Eunan O’Kane
Midfielder – Marc Pugh
Midfielder – Paul Telfer

Striker – Mark Stein
Striker – Steve Claridge
Striker – Don Givens

Substitute – Trevor Aylott

As is the norm, I asked the readership to drop into our comment facility the names of those I didn’t include and the response was as thus:

• Harry Cornick
• Mark Ovendale
• Josh McQuiod
• Richard Cooke
• John Groves (FA Cup Final appearance)
• Steve Robinson
• Warren Feeney

After mulling over the names provided and for this ‘Revisited’ article, I’ve opted to stick with my original XI, is it a decision you agree with or would you like to have seen someone else included?

I was tempted to choose Harry Cornick but, apparently although on the books of Bournemouth, he never actually made a league appearance for the club.

Please feel free to, as usual, air your views in the comment facility beneath this article.

John ORourke-now sadly no longer with us scored 64 league goals in 84 outings for us between 1964 and 1966 He was my first football hero. He finished his league career at Bournemouth in 1973 -4 Surely a worthy addition to your squad ?
