Two games into our first season in the Premier League and things are looking tough for the Hatters.

I’ve always been one to ignore the league table at this stage of the season, preferring to wait until the season has settled down, six or seven games into it.

But it’s different in the Premier League, the media focus is at a different level, and you can’t ignore the table when it is constantly thrust in your face.

Come the end of the weekend I fully expect the Hatters to be in the bottom three, but does it concern me, no!

There are thirty-six more games to go, and our time will, undoubtedly, come, we’ve had two tough away fixtures against two Premier League teams who are likely to finish in the top eight.

Rob Edwards knows there are tough times ahead, but the gaffer remains resilient and knows from which fixtures we must pick up points to retain our current status.

Following the 3-0 loss, at Stamford Bridge, and as reported by Sky Sports, Rob had this to say:

“I don’t like losing, none of us do. But there are ways to lose. When our fans reacted like that, applauding us off, we know we’ve done something right.”

Indeed, the support were magnificent last night, out singing the home support, continuing, Rob added:

“We were up against it, against a really good team today. I thought we were really brave, I am proud of the players.

“I’ve seen improvement from the game against Brighton. We were aggressive when we could be and tried to go for them. In the end both ends of the pitch let us down slightly. They were ruthless in the key moments and we weren’t. There are areas to work on.”

That ruthlessness is something we’ll encounter a lot this season, the top teams create, and take, chances, something we, as a team, need to learn.

Further adding, Rob continued:

“Second half I thought we started as the better team. We had to make something happen but we weren’t able to. It was going to go one way or another, we needed to score but they did.

“The players have worked so hard, I’m not going to blame anyone. We have to make sure we can do the basics for 100 minutes. Football is difficult, especially at this level.”

It is, the biggest difference I’ve noticed so far is how much quicker teams move the ball forward and with the precision and cohesion levels we’ve not reached yet, hopefully, we’ll get there somewhere down the road.

Don’t know if anyone else noticed but only a total of 6 mins added in total in the whole game. Simply because both teams played the game so refreshing no time wasted just subs time at the end.

Chelsea and Brighton stuff Luton. West Ham stuff Chelsea and Brighton. Surely on a Friday night under lights at the Kenny Luton stuff West Ham. It’s a funny old game 👍
