The summer transfer window will slam shut in just a matter of days now.

However, it remains to be seen as to whether the Hatters recruitment team can push one, or maybe two, more deals across the line.

Of course, once the transfer window closes, the Hatters are still able to sign any players not tied to a contract.

The last twenty-four hours have seen Luton Town, according to several sources, includng the Daily Mail, linked with the possible acquisition of the Newcastle United midfielder, Isaac Hayden.

Although Hayden still has three years of his current contract left, up at St James Park, it would appear that he is out of favour and is, currently, training away from the first team squad with the U21’s.

At 28-years-of-age, Hayden should be in the prime of his career but it doesn’t seem, despite making in excess of 150 appearances for the club, that future will be at Newcastle United.

Last season, Hayden was sent out on loan to Norwich City, could this seson see the former England U21 star plying his trade at Kenilworth Road, or are you of the belief we have adequate coverage already in that area of the pitch?

Another midfielder 🤦‍♂️we have a very good midfielder in Campbell who for some reason only known to edwards obviously isn’t part of his plans!! Its clear We need a solid defender and a goalscorer!!! Morris can’t create and be on end at same time

Somehow Luton have to get some points but introducing too many newcomers is a dangerous policy. I would have given last years Group an opportunity, they were compact defensively but goals were hard to get.
No need to panic everyone knew it was going to be tough and a win would be a tremendous boost.
Against Chelsea I thought the support play was lacking with players delaying where to put the ball and in this class possession is soon lost. Also we failed to really press Chelsea when attacking allowing them to break fast.
Luton always looked in danger with the opposition attacking. They have to be savvy off the ball picking up players running off the ball.As players adapt to this higher division I think there will be improvement with a good chance of avoiding relegation. The supporters have been magnificent brilliant don’t lose heart

It would appear that Campbell is not rated highly enough by the management team to warrant a place in the starting XI. They would know. They see them every day in training matches. He gives 100% every game when he does play but perhaps he just isn’t at the level consistently or doesn’t fit the systems Edwards and co want to play.

We don’t need another midfielder a center half and striker just don’t see us scoring a lot of goals to be honest going to have to play out of are skin Friday night as West Ham are in great form to be honest can only see one outcome another defeat

how many new players will satisfy everybody’s needs. we have great players who need to perform much better. the passing is sloppy, holding on to the ball to long, etc. get the basic’s right, and play people in the right positions. shout out for our goal scoring players out on loan?????? COYH
