Continuing taking a revised look at a series we ran, here on Vital Luton Town, back in April/May 2004 it’s time to take a look at the letters L and M.

Back in the days of COVID-19, the response to our mini-series continued to be good with both Chris Winter and Tony Byfield taking time out to submit a starting XI, with Chris submitting the following:

• Johnathan Mitchell
• Sean Long
• Des Linton
• Steve McNulty
• John Moore
• Ollie Lee
• Cameron McGeehan
• Pelly Ruddock-Mpanzu
• Brian Lewis
• Malcolm MacDonald
• Gary McSheffery

And Tony submitting a differing XI that looked as thus:

• David Lawson
• Brendan McNally
• John Moore
• Richard Money
• Des Linton
• Bob Morton
• Darren McDonough
• Tommy McKecknie
• Dwight Marshall
• Malcolm MacDonald
• David Moss

Whereas my own XI looked vastly different to the other two:

• Martyn Margetson
• Alex Lawless
• John Moore
• Steve Litt
• Des Linton
• Darren McDonough
• Cameron McGeehan
• Paul McLaren
• Brian Lewis
• Malcolm MacDonald
• David Moss

Since publication, back in April 2020, there are several players who the club have signed that fit the ongoing criteria:

• Teden Mengi
• Albert Sambi Lokonga
• Carlton Morris
• Admiral Muskwe
• John McAtee
• Henri Lansbury
• Matt Macey

Which made the task of compiling an ultimate XI just that little bit harder, but after pontificating for a while I’ve come up with the following XI:

• David Lawson

• Brendan McNally
• Teden Mengi
• John Moore
• Bob Morton

• Albert Sambi Lokonga
• Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu
• Darren McDonough

• Malcolm MacDonald
• Brian Lewis
• David Moss

Is it an XI you concur with or would you beg to differ?
